What is the difference between birch and hardwood?

All firewood items in the Eco Forest line are dried in a kiln to the USDA standard, which eliminates any pest or mold on the products, and allows them to light easily and burn thoroughly and consistently. Local hardwood is usually not kiln dried, and may carry pests within. Air drying, regardless of the time seasoned, will not perform like Eco Forest kiln dried firewood, in its ease of lighting or its thorough burn through.
